BREAK THE CYCLE OF OVERWHELM AND ANXIETY

Set yourself a goal to bring focus to just two things: CALM and PERSPECTIVE.

Connecting with these two qualities has the power to get you out of this stressful state. They both support each other and combine to reset and balance your emotions.

THE HEALING POWER OF CALM

Things seem bigger in our mind than they often are.Taking time to step away and give your nervous system a rest will help you think more clearly. To give yourself permission to relax- remind yourself that having a moment to de-stress will help you function more efficiently more than continuing to race around in circles.Even just an hour can make all the difference.

Want some ideas to help you relax?

  • Massage
  • Meditation
  • Walk in nature
  • Hot bath
  • A body scrub
  • Massaging warmed, deep conditioner into your head and scalp
  • Aromatherapy oils in a diffuser or in products applied to the skin
  • Relaxation and resetting the nervous system is connected with deep belly breathing.

Anything that deepens and slows down your breath will help connect you with the healing power of calm.

When you are relaxed you can see everything clearly around you.

SHIFT YOUR PERSPECTIVE

Worry is often more about our thoughts than true reality.

Step back and see the situation from an attitude of trust and positivity and observe if things change.

Give yourself an affirmation that gives you a positive place to come back to each time your thoughts go back to the cycle of overwhelm.

I have a little deck of affirmation cards I love to choose from each day that I keep on my desk. Just reading the words gives me inspiration and focus when I need it.

Create a list of everything that is weighing on you.

Prioritise what is truly important, and ease your load by putting aside anything that can wait.

Think of the people you have around you that can support you either by talking things through to get perspective, or that you can delegate to so you don’t have to do everything yourself.

CREATE BOUNDARIES

We are all taught to give out our energy, but few of us know how to protect it.

We are busy with the things we say “yes” to, so choose wisely and think about the bigger picture of the things we take on, both physically and emotionally.

Creating boundaries around what you allow your mind to absorb can also protect your stress levels.

The news from the media thrives on terrifying and shocking, all of which feeds anxiety.

Give yourself a protective boundary from these things before you go to sleep at night and when you first wake up, and replace the habit of connecting with the news with a wellness based activity to start and end every day on a positive note.

SOMETHING NEW TO HELP YOU FEEL GROUNDED & BALANCED

Last year, I created an essential oil specifically designed to calm and focus the mind at times of anxiety.

We called it "Ground & Balance", and it is one of my absolute favourite oils to go to when I need to slow down a racing mind and connect with feeling good.

I love this oil so much that I would often blend a little of the essential oil into a base oil to massage into my shoulders to really get the full benefits.

Today, I am happy to announce we have decided to make “Ground & Balance” available as a pulse point aromatherapy roll on blend so you can enjoy this as a relaxing experience on-the-go.

Ground & Balance rollette is a sensual blend of citrus, spice and exotic florals helps you feel grounded and connected.

It is formulated to calm anxiety and harmonise mind and body.

I hope you enjoy these tips today, and also the gifts of nature that essential oils bring us with blends like “Ground & Balance”.

Every day of life is so precious, don’t wait until the perfect moment to enjoy it - life is NOW!
