De-Stress on the go!

When we lead a busy life it’s common to feel the impacts of stress.

Rather than letting stress build up, I like to create short pauses in my day that release tension before it becomes overwhelming.

It’s like eating food...

Better to have regular small meals that keep your energy balanced, than skipping meals and feeling like you need an enormous meal to get back on track.

You can think of this as a release valve for steam pressure... Let it off before it blows!

TIP #1: STAY COOL

When we are stressed, heat builds up in the body which can make us more stressed.

My favourite way to instantly feel “cool, calm and collected” is to use an iKOU face mist.

It lowers the temperature of your skin, and the scent also gets you deep breathing again!

TIP #2: RELAX YOUR SKIN & EASE MUSCULAR TENSION

We can feel the tension in our muscles when we are stressed, but we often don’t realise our skin also becomes tight when we are stressed because it often becomes dry or dehydrated.

TIP #3: KNOW YOUR LIMITS

 

We are often taught that in life we need to learn how to cope with more stress.

But actually, I think we need to learn how to know ourselves and our limits.

Rather than becoming tougher, why not become more resourceful and mindful about creating regular moments for yourself to reset.

The seemingly small things have the power to make a big difference...

Sipping a hot iKOU Herbal tea, eating lunch outdoors in the sun, taking a couple of minutes to inhale some essential oils and take 20 deep belly breaths.

Find some rituals that work for you and punctuate your day with them each day.
