STEP #2/8 PREPARE FOR CHANGE:
GET ORGANISED TO SHIFT YOUR MINDSET

In the last blog we covered the first step to “Create your Life” by analysing where you are now, and where you want to be.

Close your eyes for a moment and think about what a "life in flow” looks and feels like.
Visualise waking in the morning, how you would like to feel, and what a "great day" means to you.
Bring your focus to an absolute desire to make this possible.
You create the dream, you have the power to make it come true!

Are you ready to get started?

The second step to creating a “life in flow” is to prepare for change.

Start by getting organised:

#1 Your environment

#2 Your routines and schedule

#3 Your meal planning

# 1 De-clutter your environment:

Cleansing our physical environment can completely change the way we feel.
De-cluttering can shift your mindset from a place of overwhelm or confusion and bring a sense of control and breathing space.
It can lighten your “mental load”.
It can open up more time for self, because of the efficiency it brings.

Give yourself space to breathe by having a big clean up and sort out. It is such a liberating feeling!
Two of my favourite books to inspire a ruthless de-clutter are “The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up” by Marie Kondo, and “Clear Your Clutter with Feng Shui” by Karen Kingston.

Start by choosing one area of your life to declutter this week.
Perhaps your wardrobe? Or your fridge and pantry.

Open up the windows let in the fresh air, pop on some great music and get your environment organised!

#2 Organise your routine:

The sum of our life is made up of our consistent daily routine.

Knowing in advance how you will start your day, what you will wear, what you will eat takes much of the stress out of daily decisions.

"Decision fatigue" is the mental toll that constant decision making can have on us on a daily basis, and it's a big energy zapper!

Having an organised routine also gives us more time for self, because we’re not going round in circles not knowing where we are meant to be and what we are meant to do.

Our responsibilities are often predictable, so planning our days around them brings efficiency to our schedule.

What are some areas of your life that you can bring organisation to your routine?

#3 Organise your meal planning

Meal planning is one of my big keys to an energised life.

If we’re not eating food that fuels and nourishes us optimally (and at consistent times throughout the day) then our body and mind can’t function at their peak.

My book “Energise Your Life” dedicates the final section to meal planning and the power of food.

I base our meal planning on “foundations” which I prepare on Sundays so I don’t have to start from scratch each meal.
The foundations are nutritious basics I can build on easily and quickly by mixing and matching.
Making them on Sunday is like getting a head start to the week- they give momentum to preparing fresh food every day.

*REFER TO ENERGISE YOUR LIFE pages 262 – 265 for meal planning foundations. The recipes follow from pages 281-338.

PHOTO BELOW OF SOME OF THE RECIPES IN THE BOOK BEING PREPARED:

- Raw Cacao & Orange Energy Balls can be stored and eaten directly from the freezer.

- Green Smoothie bags keep in the freezer ready to add liquid and blend fresh to drink.

Try bringing your attention to getting organised, and you will open up the floodgates of change in your life.

Being organised reduces our mental load and gives us more time and energy to do more of what feeds our soul.

YOUR GOAL TODAY :

Pick an area of your home you can start decluttering and have a clear out and clean up!
You will be amazed at the flow on effect it has to organising the other areas in your life.
Just start with one area- your wardrobe or your kitchen pantry and fridge.

I’ll see you back here in a few days time to take you through Step #3!
