Mindful Moments

We live in a world that constantly stimulates your brain!

Multi-tasking is worn as a badge of honour, we relax by scrolling through social media, and alerts and alarms are constantly taking our attention away from being present in the moment.

No wonder we’re tired! You would think because switching off brings so much relief it would come naturally and easily. But it doesn’t!

Why is this?

All this stimulation of the brain releases chemicals and endorphins into our body which are highly addictive. This makes us crave the ping of a message, count the amount of likes we get on a post and allow ourselves to be distracted by reactively checking new emails instead of methodically working through our surmounting work load with a calm proactive focus. Often the more stressed we feel, the more we seek to fill the gap of feeling relaxed with more stimulation to keep the cycle going without even realising it.

So how can you break the cycle and give your body and mind the rest it needs to renew your energy and restore your focus on the present moment?

Replace negative patterns with positive ones that distract you from the stress cycle and bring you in to the "now". Enjoy some mindful moments!

SURROUND YOURSELF WITH THINGS THAT INSPIRE MINDFUL MOMENTS:

Invest in a little teapot and cup you love and enjoy the art of a tea ritual as you pour and sip.

Create a sleep sanctuary dedicated to rest.

Mist your linens, apply a Sleepyhead rollette to your skin, warm a heat pillow in the evenings and snuggle up.

Diffuse essential oils throughout the room.

Choose to balance the way you are feeling to feel the way you want.

Set up your bathroom to inspire a mindful home spa facial

Instead of hiding your skincare away in the cupboard, display it in the order you use it from left to right on a nice tray. Roll face towels ready to use to feel like a day spa.

Just seeing your products displayed beautifully brings you into the moment and inspires you to slow down and bring intention to your evening skincare ritual.

At the weekends, add a face polish and mask to your regime and enjoy a full home spa facial treatment at home!
